After saying goodbye to the ower of the hostel and her son, we took non-AC bus again, to Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer is a desert city close to Pakistan, in the western India.
As I said, this city is in the desert, so you can imagine how hot it is, especially we visited there in the hottest season of India....
Normally, it should start to rain in June, but it dosen't rain this year.
Everywhere is having water problem right now...
On the way to Jaisalmer, I saw some animals which is not the same as we saw in other place in India, not to mention in Taiwan!
There are a lot of sheeps, goats, camels and peacocks!!!
That's right! Wide peacocks beside the roads! So amazing!
When we stoped in a small village to take a rest, we saw 3 pigs hanging on the road.
Hungry Andreas wanted to catch them and cook some delicious meat dishes, haha.
Just arrived Jaisalmer, it was 11pm, and there were still a lot of people hanging on the streets.
One local said, Indian wedding is usually held in the evening and maybe start from
9pm to 2am, so all their friends can come to celebrate together.
But suprisingly, their wedding could be last for one more then two weeks!!!
I think it is really cool.
People live in different part, different cities all around India, but India is so big that people won't meet each others very often.
So, wedding give them the opportunities to meet all their friends, and gather together.
After enjoy the whole weeks, and then go back to their work place and start working!
We met a man on the bus to Jaisalmer, he come from Goa(South-west part of India), and took a lot of time to join his friend's wedding in a small village near Jaisalmer!
I'm sure he had a good time there:)
Jaisalmer is very very hot, or you can say especially indoors.
At night, it's very comfortable outside, so people sometimes sleep on the roof-top.
In the second day, we joined the "camel safari".
It 's a package tour that contained two tourist spots, camel ride, seeing sunset in the desert, dinner and breadfast, and
sleep in the desert for one night!!!
For the camel safari tour, I bought a scraf to protect my face and neck from the sun.
When we took a jeep and drive into the edge of desert, we saw our camels are ready, and waiting for us!
Camel is very tall, so the view from camel's back is very good!
I hope I'm not too heavy for him...
This is my first time to see desert, not to mention to ride a camel, it was just sooooo GOOD!!!
I thought desert is a dead area, and no animal there, but I was totally wrong.
During the camel riding, I saw some wide deers and camels, although it's in a long distance, but it still touched me a lot.
I even saw a fox!!!
I will never forget that impressive moment....
We rode camels to a place to see sunset, which is totally sand desert, no rocks or plants there, really really really beautiful!!!!
I couldn't believe I was really in the desert in that moment, because the view was really fake, and I felt I was in the wallpaper of Windows, ha!
After seeing the sunset, we went to a little building in the desert, which is the place that we had meal and sleep for one night.
Our guides picked some wood to make fire and cooked the dinner for us.
At night, 4 of us (two guides, Andreas and me) sit on the roof top and sang together.
Roof top was also the place that we slept at night (because it won't rain and it's cooler outside).
They sang many good songs, like the song for praying rain, for camel safari, and a love song in desert.
We also sang many Taiwan's pop songs, but I still think "瀟灑走一回" is the best song for that atmosphere, ha.
I saw a bunch of stars in the midnight.
You must want to know why I was still awake in the midnight, I must be very tired after camel riding and exposing under the sun for hours.
It was all because it was so god damm
COLD in the midnight!!!!
I couldn't sleep in such cold weather = =
The wind was so big, that I was really afraid the wind would took my shoes away!
Stayed one night in desert was very very cool, it is difinitly the best experience of my life!
After came back from the tour, we went to Jaisalmer Fort.
You can see the pictures that we took in the fort.
The buildings in Jaisalmer are all in gold color, so people say it's a Golden City.
Compare to the other two cities, Jodhpur (Blue City) and Jaipur (Pink City), Jaisalmer has a special atmosphere.
Walking among this city, you would feel like you are living in hundreds or thousands years ago.
It's such a charming and unforgetable city :)
